The videotheque was created in 1992 by Charles Picq and is one of the few places in the world that opens up the world of dance in pictures to the public.
Where dance is concerned, the picture holds an unrivalled place of honour. In particular, this is a major means of transmitting dance culture and this is the reason for the existence of our videotheque. There are around 1000 titles available today. All dance style are represented, with numerous work references and new subjects to be explored in the fields of filmed shows, fiction and documentary dance, choreography, masterpieces and great contemporary dance shows.

Individual consultation

In order to view the videos, the Maison de la Danse has made available to the public two consultation booths, which are situated on the mezzanine floor of the reception area. They allow comfortable viewing for individuals and small groups of 5 to 6 people. There is a computerised catalogue situated in the hall where searches can be made by title, choreographer, performer, producer, keyword etc.
