Vidéothéque presentation

Introduction

The Maison de la Danse began its interest in videos in 1980, when it undertook the work of archiving shows, a work that continues under the same video director, Charles Picq. In 1990 the Maison de la Danse created a videotheque, the first of its kind in France. This store is constantly still being added to by new acquisitions and by the production of new archives and today has over one thousand references. A large part is directly accessible for free consultation by the general public.

All video lovers have been able to view some of these treasures as they have dined at the video-bar with Ginger and Fred or were present at screenings over the past three years at the Jacques Demy theatre.

School teachers and children are also invited to individually composed video-conferences that are intended to inform and clarify.
