Jorge Donn Studio

A new space for its programmes
The Jorge Donn studio is sandwiched between the Town Hall and the Maison de la Danse buildings and until that point had been kept exclusively for use by artists and could not receive spectators. With the support of the Town Hall of the 8th arrondissement of Lyon and the backing of its partners – the City of Lyon, the Rhône-Alpes Region and the Regional Management of Cultural Affairs – the Maison de la Danse carried out modifications to this studio, which allowed it to broaden its activities starting in September 2005. As well as rehearsals, auditions and courses, the presentation of up-and-coming performances and small shows to the general public and to professionals was now possible under the very best of conditions, with modular, tiered seating for 92 places having been installed, together with sound, lighting and technical equipment.
