Thomas Guerry, Camille Rocailleux
The third piece from Lyon’s Compagnie Arcosm, ‘La Mécanique des Anges’, is, like the previous ones, a product of two minds: dancer and choreographer Thomas Guerry and percussionist, pianist and composer Camille Rocailleux. They are the already accomplished producers of ‘Échoa’ aimed at young audiences, which met with great success here and everywhere else it was staged. Also, ‘Lisa’ offered a made-to-measure role for the young dancer and lyrical singer Romie Esteves, and it is this mixing of styles and disciplines that lends such originality to their work. The stage performers are each in turn dancers, singers, actors and musicians. With humour and a lightness of touch, the duo has a knack for designing musical shows that defy genre, embracing crazy scenarios and ludicrous references. In ‘La Mécanique des Anges’ Romie Esteves, an actor-singer, two dancers and four musicians raise questions about the generations and about self-image. They have our utmost confidence!
