Taking the title from Georges Bataille, the young French-Swiss choreographer Perrine Valli touches on a tough and delicate subject of society in Je pense comme une fille enlève sa robe, namely that of prostitution.
In this approach, which is as much personal as it is poetic, she is accompanied by sound designer Jennifer Bonn and works at the crossroads of visual arts, song and performance. The prostituted body is dealt with from several angles: touch, the limit diving private space from the public sphere, nudity, sexual identity. The overall prostituted body, taken over by the client body of the man, represented here by figurines out of white paper (those which you cut out to make a frieze) or by minimalist video projections – a magical stage of small characters rushing to take advantage of the body or playing with it. An intriguing, disturbing and sensitive show.
