Groupe Grenade
Oliver Twist (2009)

Being sensitive to the topic of child abuse, which crops up repeatedly in his shows, it was almost obvious that Josette Baïz would one day dedicate a production to the young hero of Charles Dickens’ famous naturalist novel, Oliver Twist, whose life is punctuated by small pleasures, dramas and great sufferings. His journey is a spectacular revelation of all the bruises which live on in every one of our hearts.
This tale from the 19th Century, which is universal and still relevant, touches the hearts of today’s young audiences thanks to the choreographer’s eye and the enthusiasm of his young dancers aged from eight to fourteen years. The very stimulating show, which is recommended for the whole family, includes perfectly synchronous ensemble scenes among other things, brought to you by this energy and realism specific to Josette Baïz.
