An exclusive partnership links the Jeune Ballet to the Maison de la Danse, where we welcome them every season. As the fourth and final year of the programme at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon (Lyon national music and dance conservatoire), the Jeune Ballet constitutes the first step towards becoming professional for the young dancer. The goal is for them to work alongside established choreographers as well as producers creating their first show and composers with diverse aesthetic visions. The programme that is staged presents a reflection on classical and contemporary styles, and on the various methods of choreographic composition they involve. It shows that these techniques complement and enrich each other. On the bill this year are some superb pieces created for these dancers by Kader Bélarbi, Michel Kelemenis, Eric Oberdorff and Julien Monty, and a broadcast of George Balanchine’s ‘Apollo’.
