Drawing on 1960s comedies, Nasser Martin-Gousset dares to use in his productions humour and glamour, rock and pop, romanticism and detective stories. His exuberant and extremely cinematic show ‘Péplum’, which has been shown here twice, left a lasting impression. For the first time in his career, he has created a show aimed at young audiences, staged in Lyon at the Croix-Rousse. He revisits Sleeping Beauty, who has certainly not finished having a hard time! The princess, the prince, the king, the queen and the witch all express their feelings through dance and song in this mini-opera that Nasser presents as gaudily and colourfully as expected. Videos supplement the stage design and portray the well-known fairytale scene, with its an enchanted kingdom surrounded by a forest of thorns.
Everything comes together to plunge the old and young alike into this bizarre world, teeming with intrigue, with a touch of madness and modernity.
