Cie Alexandra N'Possee

Belalit - Jaussen
No(s) Limit(es) (2008)

The Chambéry company Alexandra N’Possee is firmly anchored in the hip hop movement. It develops a unique style under the influence of both funk and breakdance. No(s) Limit(es) is a plea against the division of minds and the isolation of beings.
The two choreographers and artistic directors of the company, Abdennour Belalit and Martine Jaussen, question the relationships we foster with our limits; those imposed by nature and society as well as those which we impose on ourselves. The six young dancers are imprisoned behind large bars in a succession of flashes.
Solos, duos, trios and unisons are performed with a beating drum. No(s) Limit(es) indisputably expresses a ground truth, serious and urgent, and tells the story of a youth which takes its destiny in hand, determined not to be imprisoned in the wrong role. The originality of this show reveals a hip hop dance on the boundaries of theatrical interpretation.
