This choreographer of Israeli origin already has a great career behind him. He was a dancer with the ballet de l’Opéra at Lyon, with Ohad Naharin, Tero Saarinen and Russell Maliphant and has now written fifteen pieces. When Yuval Pick speaks of his creations, he intentionally uses a vocabulary borrowed from the physical sciences, such as forces, fields of forces, polarities, encounters between dancers like shocks between particles, precipitations etc.  This abstract approach to dance is counterbalanced by the constant and generous search for movement that he explores in a language where emotion and fluidity also have their place.  His work has been regularly presented at Toboggan since 2003, under the auspices of a partnership with the City of Décines. In the programme are two pieces: the male trio Popular Music and the male-female duo There and, which will be created in residence at the Jorge Donn studio, where Yuval searches for “the event, the situation that will bring back to the surface the furtive memory of the original celestial gardenâ€?.
