Dromos 1 & 2 (créations 2006/2007)

With the backing of the BNP Paribas Foundation

Philippe Combes gives the name “pictorial object, not “choreographed play, to his project. Dromos 1 presents a bare body, that of dancer Delphine Lorenzo, who is making a print on a vertical sheet, a print that resembles a recumbent statue, and maybe a three dimensional scan. This chrysalis crumples and stretches, becoming the medium between the image of the body and the video projected over the whole under the care of Cécile Babiole. Dromos 2 distances itself from the virtual representation of the body and the cocoon becomes a vestige at the back of the stage. The hatched being takes over the empty horizontal space of the stage and becomes aware of its vulnerability and the eyes of the outside world. Philippe Combes interpreted the work of Régine Chopinot and Angelin Preljocaj before setting up his own company at Toulouse and he is presenting this highly visual and enigmatic, metaphorical work at the studio for the first time.
