Olé Khamchanla / Xavier Lot

Kham… (creation 2007) | Welcome to Bienvenue (2004)

With the backing of the BNP Paribas Foundation

Two soli in the steps of a multiple identity. We have known Olé Khamchanla for some years now, he dances and creates with the A'Corps company in Valence.  He was born in Laos and came to France at the age of two.  Hip hop has already played a poetic role for him when he combined it with the Japanese Buto and the Brazilian Capoeira. He has now created Kham, a solo inspired by a trip to his country of birth and meetings with the great masters of Laotian traditional dance. In Welcome to Bienvenue, Xavier Lot and Bienvenue Bazié – French choreographer and Burkinese dancer – reinvent entirely contemporary encounters between artists imbued with clichés. An encounter sprinkled with barriers, borders, customs and small humiliations. This solo evokes the journey between them and the irony of being refused a visa because you are called Bienvenue…
