Nasser Martin-Gousset

LA MAISON
Péplum (2006)

On the occasion of the most recent Biennale, Nasser Martin Gousset’s first “superproduction with the Maison de la Danse caused immediate public and critical enthusiasm. An epic such as dreams are made of! Excessive, voluptuous and tragic! The piece brings together ten players, three musicians and the voices of the Taylor-Burton couple, stars of the film by Mankiewicz, creating the most sumptuous ride that could be imagined in the footsteps of Anthony and Cleopatra. Love, its decline, death and dance all intertwine their symbols in an unbridled embrace. In this choreographic fiction, the choreographer stages the story of his life where fantasy and reality come together for this magical event. Rock, glamour, highly-charged, dyonisiac… the adjectives are not wanting – the press is unanimous. An enthusiastic press review!
