Compagnie Michèle Noiret

Les Arpenteurs (creation 2007)

Since her work with Stockhausen, Michèle Noiret, choreographer of desire, intimacy, the imaginary and turmoil, has been experimenting with intimate links between sound and movement prior to liberating movement in a dance-film that plunges the spectator into the heart of her choreographic characters. François Paris, composer of the repertory rich with images, poetry and technique, develops a music in which the sound seems to rub shoulders with the very tiniest of things in great acoustic spaces.  He is one of the few people to compose by combining his percussion group with technology, relating constantly to the image. In this case the percussion group is Percussions de Strasbourg, whose instruments are as amazing as they are unusual and beautiful. This is a show where the choreography comes from the universe of the city, escapades, solitude and crowds. Les Arpenteurs meet, appear and disappear in a fictitious city, a city of the imagination, in which the paths of some have a magnetic effect on the tracks of others.
