Cie Joëlle Bouvier
Joëlle Bouvier is a timeless woman who crosses eras, fashions and styles, a kind of Hitchcock heroine. Her impulsive, emotional, heartfelt gestures affirm an extreme lyricism counterbalanced by a strength reined in through gentleness. She is without doubt one of the finest representatives of the hot, vibrating, instinctual and dramatized dance that does not waver when faced with the violence of sentiments. Having spent 18 years creating in partnership with Régis Obadia, since 1998 Joëlle Bouvier has been choreographing alone and in 2003 she left the CNDC that she directed with him in Angers. She has been the resident designer at the National Theatre Les Gemeaux de Sceaux since 2004. Today she plays Face à face (Face to face) without pretence, and unveils with modesty and serenity the intimate territories until now kept in their own shadows. This solo retraces the narrow escape of this artist who is learning to say “I.
